Hampton Majestic Hotel Opens in Chicago

. October 14, 2008

MARCH 15, 2007. First Hospitality Group Inc. (FHG), and Northern Realty Group, Ltd., today announced the opening of the Hampton Majestic - Chicago Theatre District Hotel. The hotel will celebrate its official opening April 4, 2007. The 135-room hotel is located in the Majestic Building, which also houses the historic LaSalle Bank Theatre, and occupies the top 17 floors.

The 18-month renovation of the Majestic, totaling close to $20 million, includes new technology, added guestroom comforts and luxuries, and updates to the classic d'ecor and style of the building. Gaining inspiration from the Majestic's original 1906 architecture and design, the unique style of this Hampton, "evokes the glamour and romance of the theatre," said hotel designer Laurie Miller of Anderson/Miller, Ltd. Embodying the ambience of historical Chicago, the Majestic also offers contemporary conveniences guests have come to expect from the Hampton Inn brand, namely complimentary hot breakfast & high-speed internet access, friendly service, and comfortable surroundings.

"This hotel is in a wonderful, meticulously restored historic building, connected to one of the city's most prominent theatrical venues - the LaSalle Bank Theatre (formerly known as the Shubert Theatre)," said Phil Cordell, Hampton senior vice president, Hampton brand management. "A location like this would not have been possible for Hampton as recently as 5 years ago."

Located at 22 West Monroe Street in downtown Chicago, the Hampton Inn-Majestic Chicago Theatre District hotel is conveniently located close to Soldier Field, the Shedd Aquarium, Michigan Avenue shopping and dining outlets, and the Water Tower.

This venture between First Hospitality Group, Broadway In Chicago and Northern Realty Group was created in 2000 by Michael Tobin managing principal of Northern Realty Group of Chicago, Ill. "This is an exciting and challenging project that involves historic restoration of one of Chicago's most beloved buildings," said Tobin. "To be able to operate this building as a hotel and theater complex will add to the emerging 24-hour, 7- day-a-week activity in the loop."

The Nederlander Organization, which has owned the building since 1991, will retain ownership of the theater. "Broadway in Chicago is looking forward to he restoration of the new LaSalle Bank Theater and a successful partnership with First Hospitality Group, Inc. and Northern Realty Group." said Broadway In Chicago's Broadway in Chicago President Lou Raizen.

"FHG is thrilled to be part of this extraordinary undertaking, and the partnership that the LaSalle Bank Theater and Broadway In Chicago will provide," said Habeeb.
