Skilled Luxury/Lifestyle Operator Assumes Lead Role for Upper East Side Manhattan Boutique Hotel
NEW YORK, New York - September 5, 2014 - Denihan, a full-service hotel management and development company that owns and operates boutique hotels in major urban markets in the U.S., has appointed Troy Pade as general manager of The Surrey, the company's intimate luxury lifestyle hotel located on Manhattan's prestigious Upper East Side, and New York City's only Relais & Châteaux hotel. Top among his priorities are maximizing customer and associate satisfaction and optimizing financial performance. He reports to Valerie Ferguson, vice president, operations for Denihan.
“We are delighted to welcome Troy to our team,” said Ferguson. “His reputation within the industry and among the clients with whom he has worked is second to none. I am confident that his expertise, drive and enthusiasm will have an extremely positive impact on The Surrey”.
Pade joins The Surrey from Viceroy Hotel Group where he most recently served as general manager for CASSA Hotel in New York City after holding senior leadership roles at Viceroy Santa Monica and Hotel Milano in San Francisco. Previously, he served as pre-opening/opening general manager of Hotel Shangri-La, Santa Monica.
Following his graduation from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon, Pade landed a job as a poolside waiter at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii, where he fell in love with the hotel business. He quickly worked his way into various sales management positions, beginning at Four Seasons at Beverly Hills, and later, at the Carlyle in New York and the Mondrian in West Hollywood. Throughout his years in hotel sales, Pade specialized in both the New York market and the entertainment industry.
One of his first orders of business in his new role: Extending his passion for long distance running, yoga and fitness in general into unique new guest offerings at The Surrey.
