NUEVO VALLARTA, Nayarit, Mexico, March 28, 2007. Grand Velas All Suites & Spa Resort, the all-inclusive resort located in Banderas Bay, Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico is the 2007 "Most Excellent Spa Hotel" in all of Mexico and Central America. That's according to Cond'e Nast Johansens, which is owned by Cond'e Nast Publications and bestowed the prestigious designation. Grand Velas came out on top in a competition with three other 2007 nominees in Mexico and Central America for the award, which was announced by supermodel Cindy Crawford on Feb. 5 at a ceremony at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.

Awards were presented in 24 categories. The event brought together the best hoteliers from the United States, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Atlantic, Caribbean and Pacific Islands.

Cond'e Nast Johansens, an international luxury travel guide, selected the winners from among 310 properties featured in the 2007 "Recommended Hotels, Inns, Resorts & Spas - The Americas, Atlantic, Caribbean, Pacific." Inspectors, readers and hotel guests helped vote for the winners online or by completing an Award for Excellence card available at all Cond'e Nast Johansens Recommended accommodations.
