. October 14, 2008

SAN DIEGO, CA, March 29, 2007. The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Robert Cartwright as its new General Manager, effective December 2006.

Mr. Cartwright's achievements have been recognized as an asset to the company, and as such, he has been part of the Starwood family for almost 15 years - often at four star, four diamond hotels.

Already having brought success to the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina in 2003, Mr. Cartwright's management helped lead the property to being named a finalist in Starwood Hotel & Resort's 'Hotel of the Year' - one of only three hotels nominated for this honor. Continually achieving award-winning results, Mr. Cartwright was also given the 2001 'Gold Star Award' in Corporate Performance by the Chairman & CEO for his outstanding performance. More recently, he was named Senior Director of Operations & Six Sigma 'Master Blackbelt' for the Southern California regional office in January of 2005. Mr. Cartwright's title was earned only after extensive project management experience and mastery of Six Sigma Methodology and Statistical Tools. Recognized as a true leader, this role entails mentoring and leading a team of five 'Black Belts' in the region to follow in his footsteps.

Acquired in April of 2006 by Host Hotels & Resorts (formerly Host Marriott Corp.), the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina was part of a 35-hotel, $4.23 billion deal which made Host Hotels one of the largest hotel owners in the country. Under a long-term agreement, Starwood continues to manage the significant property.
