Aloft Buffalo Airport Opens
December 29, 2014 - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.® (NYSE:HOT) today announced the launch of its Aloft brand in Buffalo, New York. The opening of Aloft Buffalo Airport also marks Starwood's debut in Buffalo and increases the company's portfolio to six hotels in the greater Niagara region. Owned by Manga Hotels, the new Aloft features 153 spacious, loft-like rooms, cutting-edge design and an energetic, social atmosphere - all at an affordable price point.
“Aloft Buffalo Airport is a terrific addition to Starwood's growing portfolio and provides an exciting, new destination for next generation travelers and area professionals with its distinctive design aesthetic and live music offerings,” said Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President, Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. “Aloft is enjoying tremendous success and is on track to open its 100th hotel next year, fueled by rising demand in markets worldwide.”
Ideally located just ten minutes from the entrance of Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF), the hotel is less than 15 minutes from restaurants, night clubs, art galleries and theaters in downtown Buffalo, and 30 minutes from Niagara Falls - one of world's leading tourist attractions. Also nearby are the shops and restaurants at the Western Galleria Mall, Buffalo Zoo, Buffalo Museum of Science and First Niagara Center.
The bright and airy guestrooms at Aloft Buffalo Airport feature the ultra-comfortable signature Aloft bed, Bliss® Bath amenities, a 42-inch LCD television and a plug & play station for electronics. In addition to the brand's signature W XYZ bar, hotel amenities include Re:fuel by Aloft - a one-stop, grab-and-go food and beverage area, an indoor Splash pool, 24-hour fitness center, 600 square feet of flexible meeting space, complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle and fast and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
“We are delighted to partner with Starwood Hotels to introduce the popular Aloft brand to the bustling Buffalo Airport corridor,” said General Manager, Tom Molenda. “We expect that Aloft Buffalo Airport will soon emerge as a top choice among business and leisure travelers who will appreciate the hotel's urban flair, intuitive technologies, and innovative brand-led programming.”
The Aloft brand's innovative and exclusive initiatives set it apart. Aloft Hotels, the tech-forward, innovation hub for millennial-minded travelers, recently announced the appointment of A.L.O. as the hotel brand's first Botlr (robotic butler) at its Cupertino property. This forward thinking innovation makes Aloft the first major hotel brand to hire a robot for both front and back of house duties. Additionally, every Aloft Hotel around the world offers live, free access to local emerging artists as well as some of the hottest bands with Live at Aloft Hotels programming at the W XYZ® bars.
