Budapest Corinthia Picks up Diamond Award

. October 14, 2008

MARCH 29, 2007. The five-star Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal in Budapest, Hungary, has won the International Five-Star Diamond Award, presented by the American Academy of Hospitality Services.

The award is presented to establishments that demonstrate a commitment to excellence in luxury amenities and top quality services. The award was presented at the ITB trade fair in Berlin earlier this month by Mr Joseph Cinque, president of the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences and Ms Zuleyka Rivera, Miss Universe 2006. In receiving the award, the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal joins an elite band of hotels that have been similarly honoured, including the Dorchester, the Ritz and the Burj Al Arab Hotels.

The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences is renowned worldwide for awarding excellence in the global travel and luxury services sector. Each year the Academy bestows its coveted International Star Diamond Award exclusively on five-star establishments that are deemed to be of pinnacle quality by its board of trustees. The award is the most prestigious emblem of achievement and true quality that many leading hotels strive for, but few obtain.

The luxurious Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal is an award winning fateful reconstruction of the 110-year-old Grand Hotel Royal. The Hotel received Europe's 'Best Hotel Architecture Award' and is a member of 'The Most Famous Hotels in the World'. It was recently chosen as 'Best Luxury - World' Hotel by TripAdvisor(R) in its 2006 Travelers' ChoiceTM awards.

The hotel has recently inaugurated its unique 'Royal Spa', an extensive Euro 4 million renovation of an original 19th century Spa that has once again regained its rightful place as Budapest's most luxurious and imposing Spa Facility.
