Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun is Decking the Halls for Christmas & New Year's Eve
CANCUN, MEXICO - December 16, 2015 - Beyond the sand and sea, guests visiting Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun for the holidays will be treated to an array of festive celebrations for the whole family to enjoy. Upon arrival, visitors will be greeted by a massive 50-foot Christmas tree, putting guests in the holiday spirit as soon as they walk through the doors. Glowing with 40,000 lights and 1,000 ornaments, the tree is uniquely composed of 110 individual fresh trees fitted into a specially designed base that stands five stories high. The trees used to create this one of a kind “super tree” are specially farmed in Northwest Mexico and specifically grown for the resort so there is no impact on the country's natural forest.
On December 23, 2015, the celebrations kick-off with a time-honored Mexican tradition known as "Posada Navidena," complete with carol singing. Taking place outside on the resort's sunrise terrace, the highlight of the event is the breaking of a piñata where kids and adults can all take turns swinging to reveal Mexican candies and sweets. The revelry continues with Christmas Eve festivities and feasts as families and loved ones are invited to dine and indulge at one of the resort's four full-service restaurants.
Live music and unique, specialty menus have been designed for the holiday including a modern Mexican Christmas menu at La Joya and an elegant French-Mediterranean dinner at the award-winning Le Basilic.
On Christmas Day, guest of all ages can enjoy a stunning walk on the beach or dip in the ocean, while children will be treated to a meet and greet with jolly old Saint Nick. In honor of the holiday, the resort's spectacular Vina Del Mar restaurant will offer a decadent international dinner buffet complete with traditional cold, hot and carving stations, seasonal soups, salads and desserts.
New Year's Eve
To ring in the New Year, Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach is hosting a Cherry Blossom themed New Year's Eve celebration on December 31 with a stylish all-white dress code. Taking place in the Grand Ballroom, the evening includes a cocktail reception, an international “haute cuisine” buffet, elegant vintage decor, an international DJ and stunning fireworks display. Guests will enjoy the Mexican tradition of kicking the year off by eating “12 lucky grapes” at midnight and a toast with a glass of sparkling wine. The festivities start at 8pm and carry on until dawn with a special extended late-night bite bar filled with traditional Mexican snacks including chilaquiles, tamales, tacos and flambe station at 2am. The cost for the evening is $250 per person with a 50% savings for children under 12 and complimentary for those under 4 years old when accompanied by a parent.
