Dr. Jillean Justice Introduced as New President of The Greenbrier

. September 05, 2016

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.V. September 5, 2016 - Jim Justice, the Owner and CEO at The Greenbrier, formally announced during an address at the West Virginia Business Summit on Thursday that Dr. Jillean Justice has been named the new president of the historic resort in the mountains of West Virginia.

Dr. Justice, who officially began her new duties earlier this summer, is a West Virginia native who grew up visiting The Greenbrier at a young age. Since the time her father purchased the resort in 2009, Dr. Justice has gained an intimate understanding of The Greenbrier and its nearly 2,000 team members. She brings that knowledge, an intense love for The Greenbrier and experience as a business owner to her new position.

“I'm beyond excited to have the opportunity to lead this wonderful resort and follow in the footsteps of so many great leaders who have made America's Resort the best in the world,” said Dr. Justice. “The saying that there is only one Greenbrier is absolutely true, and I look forward to embracing the history of this American institution while helping it reach new heights in the future.”

Born in Beckley, W.Va., Dr. Justice moved to Greenbrier County during her high school years, where she was a multi-sport athlete at Greenbrier East High School, earning all-state honors in both volleyball and basketball. She went on to play basketball collegiately at Clemson University, before transferring to Marshall University, where she completed her basketball career and undergraduate degree in 2007. Justice then attended the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, completing her Doctor of Osteopathy in 2012.

Dr. Justice has served as a physician at Greenbrier Care, a family care provider located on The Greenbrier's 11,000-acre property, and started Gobble Cakes, a cupcake boutique in Blacksburg, Va., while attending school there.

Last September, Dr. Justice married Adam Long in a ceremony at The Greenbrier's new wedding chapel. The couple now resides in Greenbrier County.

Dr. Justice joins a new leadership team at The Greenbrier that also includes Chief Operating Officer Elmer Coppoolse, who helped take Justice-owned The Resort at Glade Springs to unprecedented success as the CEO of EMCO Hospitality, Inc., which managed The Resort at Glade Springs.

“I'm so proud of Jill and all she's accomplished,” said Jim Justice. “I have watched Jill all the way. She's smart. She loves Greenbrier County, and she loves The Greenbrier. Jill played a big role in getting The Greenbrier reopened after the devastating floods in June. I have real confidence in Jill, and I'm as excited as I can possibly be.

"We have put together an outstanding leadership team that will help write the next chapter for America's Resort."
