IHG Set to Open Surprise Holiday Inn Express

JANUARY 25, 2008. IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)], one of the world's largest hotel groups by number of rooms announced today that a new 115-room Holiday Inn Express in Surprise, Arizona is expected to open this month. The Holiday Inn Express will be Surprise's first Holiday Inn Express hotel.

Guests at the Holiday Inn Express Surprise will experience a comfortable and smart environment with innovative preferred guest upgrades to ensure a productive stay while traveling for business or leisure. The Express Start(R) breakfast bar, a complimentary caf'e-style breakfast bar features a proprietary cinnamon roll and Smart Roast(R) coffee as well as other morning favorites. The SimplySmartTM shower incorporates a proprietary Stay SmartTM Kohler showerhead, upgraded 100 percent cotton terry towels and a new line of cinnamon-scented bath products. And, guests will enjoy the SimplySmartTM bedding collection where they will find new crisp fresh bedding which features an attractive decorative top sheet, a medium-weight duvet blanket and soft 200 thread-count sheets. Simply Smart bedding is currently being implemented at Holiday Inn Express hotels across the country.

The new two and a half acre property offers a variety of amenities such as a fitness center, 24-hour front desk, and heated outdoor pool and hot-tub. Standard Holiday Inn Express guest rooms feature comfortable queen or king-sized beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair, a flat-screen TV, in-room refrigerator and microwave, and in room coffee machine featuring complimentary Smart Roast 100% Arabica coffee. Business travelers will find large desks with ergonomic chairs, free high-speed internet access and free local phone and toll free (U.S. and Canada only), two phones with private voicemail and complimentary USA Today newspapers.

The property is across the street from the Surprise Stadium where the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers play and just minutes from the state-of-art Surprise aquatic and tennis center. Within a 30 minute drive from the hotel, guests can be in downtown Phoenix or Scottsdale.
