Benchmark Appoints Elizabeth Ramirez Director of Catering

HOUSTON, TX, September 19, 2006. Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Ramirez as director of catering for Glen Cove Mansion Hotel and Conference Center, located in Glen Cove, New York. Sean McLaughlin, general manager of the property, made the announcement.

"I am very pleased to welcome Elizabeth to Glen Cove Mansion," stated Mr. McLaughlin. "She brings remarkable career success in catering sales, working for first-class properties in Florida, New York and Long Island. We look forward to her sales leadership at our property."

Ms. Ramirez engaged in a year-long independent travel & research program previous to her new appointment at Glen Cove Mansion, visiting nine European countries and studying locally authentic food and wines. This included extensive time in Italy, primarily Tuscany, where she participated in wine tastings, grapevine management and grape harvesting. She also observed chefs in Florence, studying menu creation, preparation and presentation techniques, including Chef Alessandro Panzani of Osteria dell'Olio, a Tuscan-French infused restaurant. Ramirez put her European culinary knowledge to good use following her return, creating new recipes based on regional influences.

Prior to her culinary travels, Ramirez was conference services manager for the prestigious Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club of Aventura, Florida, where she was responsible for servicing groups of 10 - 1000 guests, in addition to major charity events.

Ms. Ramirez has served as assistant restaurant operations manager for the Diplomat Country Club, a Four Star restaurant and country club located in Hallandale, Florida. She also held the position of captain and assistant banquet manager for Barton G. Design, Inc. of Miami.

Ms. Ramirez has been employed as catering supervisor for the Iroquois Hotel of Manhattan, poissonnier at Lutece and poissonnier/tournant of Arthur's 27, both Five Star restaurants in Manhattan. She launched her career in food & beverage at The Garden City Hotel, of Garden City, New York.

Elizabeth Ramirez is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. She also earned a Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. Ramirez is fluent in Italian and Spanish.
