Provenance Hotels Appoints Andrew Heilmann as Vice President of Acquisitions & Development
Provenance Hotels, the independent Portland-based hotel owner and operator, is doubling down on development with the hiring of Andrew Heilmann as Vice President of Acquisitions & Development. With the addition of Portland's Heathman Hotel to the company's management portfolio, the launch of Hotel Theodore in Seattle and the opening of Lora in Stillwater, MN over the last 18 months, Provenance Hotels now has 11 properties in five states. The company is slated to open three more properties in 2018: the Woodlark in Portland, The Revolution Hotel in Boston and Villa Royale in Palm Springs.
“With the addition of Andrew, we are looking forward to even more aggressively pursuing new deals,” said Bashar Wali, President of Provenance Hotels. “We are looking to focus on emerging Midwestern markets, the Southeast, Eastern seaboard and California where value add and ground up opportunities exist in underserved markets that are hungry for our creative, collaborative approach.”
Heilmann, a graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, comes to Provenance Hotels from GFI Hospitality where he served as Vice President of Acquisitions & Development establishing the company's strategic investment direction. Prior to that post, he was Senior Analyst, Director and, eventually, Vice President of Acquisitions & Development for Commune Hotels + Resorts and its latter incarnation, Two Roads Hospitality. There he supported, sourced, negotiated and signed numerous new development and management contracts throughout the country. He began his hospitality career in the management training track with Four Seasons in Boston before moving into business development and acquisitions as an analyst and manager with Pyramid Hotel Group, also in Boston. In his new role with Provenance Hotels, Heilmann will be based in the company's New York office where he will leverage his industry relationships and market knowledge to increase the company's grow on- and off-market deal flow.
Provenance Hotels has a portfolio of 11 independent lifestyle hotels, totaling more than 1,700 rooms, and is widely recognized for innovative design and programming. In 2017, every open property in the collection was recognized on Conde Nast Traveler's Reader's Choice list with Sentinel in Portland taking the #1 spot in the Pacific Northwest and the Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery ranking #1 in New Orleans.
