Two Roads Hospitality Appoints Martin Smith as Managing Director of El San Juan Hotel in Puerto Rico
El San Juan Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton is excited to announce the appointment of Martin Smith as Managing Director of El San Juan Hotel, a premier luxury lifestyle hotel in Puerto Rico. As the new Managing Director, Smith will bring over 25 years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry to the landmark 388-room property.
Prior to joining the El San Juan Hotel team, Smith was CEO and Managing Director of the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort and Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. In this executive position, Smith oversaw all aspects of that property, including its positioning as one of the island's top luxury properties. Previous positions include Director of Operations at Belleview Biltmore Resort & Spa, where he was then promoted General Manager and Managing Director at Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina. Additionally, Smith has held a variety of positions in Hospitality Management focusing in Food & Beverage in the United States, United Kingdom, and Middle East.

In his new role at El San Juan Hotel, Martin Smith will oversee all initiatives surrounding food & beverage, room management, revenue management, and sales and marketing. He will work alongside his team to ensure the highest standards of hospitality are met throughout the hotel. The historic property is currently charting its way towards a full restoration as it gets ready to re-open its doors. This Winter will bring the greatly anticipated grand re-opening of the landmark, luxury destination resort.
Smith graduated from The University of Surrey with a Bachelors in Hotel, Catering and Tourism Management.
