Gold Key | PHR Appoints Christopher Castle as Director of Food and Beverage for The Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach
Gold Key | PHR is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Castle as Director of Food and Beverage at The Cavalier Hotel. With over two decades of experience at world-renowned properties across Virginia, Castle brings his unique insights and longstanding history in Virginia's culinary scene to the Cavalier.
In his new assignment, Castle is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Cavalier's food and beverage outlets including the Cavalier's signature farm-to-fork restaurant Becca, the Raleigh Room, as well as the hotel's banquets, and catering programs. Utilizing his extensive knowledge of the industry, Castle plans to implement his expertise in Five Star training to help position the Cavalier's food and beverage programs for a 5 Star rating.
Before joining the Cavalier team, Castle was Director of Restaurants at the Williamsburg Inn where he helmed the food and beverage programs across the property's eight distinct restaurants During his time at the property, Castle leveraged his experience in 5 Star training to help the Williamsburg Inn earn its first AAA Five Star and Five Diamond ratings.
Prior to that Castle spent nearly two decades at D.C.'s first Michelin 3 Star restaurant, Inn at Little Washington, known for its dedication to stellar service. There he excelled in various areas of hotel operation and quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the Director of Special Events. Castle then went on to function as both Assistant Food & Beverage Director and Director of Branding for the property with titles such as “Ringmaster” and “Rainmaker”, a nod to the property's unique and inimitable flair for dinner as theater. Under Castles' leadership, The Inn at Little Washington garnered its AAA Five Star rating, the first restaurant/inn to receive Five Diamonds for both its food and accommodations.
