The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo Welcomes New General Manager, Xavi Gonzalez
The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo is pleased to welcome Xavi Gonzalez as its new General Manger. Mr. Gonzalez will bring his wealth of experience in luxury properties across the globe, including more than 10 years in Asia, to lead the hotel.
Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, Mr. Gonzalez joins The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo with over 20 years of experience in multi-faceted luxury properties within Marriott International. He first joined The Ritz-Carlton at Hotel Arts Barcelona, followed by The Ritz-Carlton Penha Longa Golf & Spa Resort in Portugal, before making his debut in Asia in 2011. During Mr. Gonzalez's tenure as Hotel Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong, the property was awarded "Best Hotel in the World" by Condé Nast Traveler. In Indonesia, he assumed his first General Manager role at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place, where he managed Hotel, Residences and the city's largest convention space, within a mixed-used development. His next role led him to successfully open the first EDITION in Asia Pacific, The Sanya EDITION in China, which received high acclaim by Hospitality Design Magazine. After this milestone opening, Mr. Gonzalez returned to Southeast Asia to join The St. Regis Singapore, Hotel & Residences, before serving as General Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto, where he was passionate about creating unforgettable memories through the rich traditions and culture of the ancient city.
