Ihcl Signs A Taj Conversion Project in Alibaug, Maharashtra

India, Mumbai. April 30, 2025

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India's largest hospitality company, announced the signing of a hotel in Alibaug, Maharashtra. The conversion project will be branded a Taj hotel.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development, IHCL said, "Alibaug's proximity to Mumbai and Pune has positioned it as a key leisure destination in Maharashtra. Its infrastructure and improved connectivity make it a preferred choice for events and getaways and Taj will further its luxury offerings on the other side of the shore in Mumbai."

The 156-key Taj Alibaug Resort & Spa will offer panoramic views. It will feature all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant - Konkan Café, celebrating the local cuisine, a bar, and a lobby lounge. With over 8,500 sq. ft. of banqueting space, the hotel will cater to corporate events, weddings, and social gatherings. Guests can also indulge in a swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and Taj's signature J Wellness Spa, promising a luxurious and rejuvenating retreat.

A picturesque coastal town known for its pristine beaches, historic forts, and vibrant local culture, Alibaug is a favoured escape from Mumbai's fast-paced life.

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 38 hotels in Maharashtra including 14 under development.
