. October 14, 2008

SEPTEMBER 26, 2006. Hilton is set to increase its presence in Ireland with two new, contemporary, full service properties - due to open in Limerick and Dublin Kilmainham early in 2007.

Hilton will operate the long term management contracts for the hotels which are owned by Lalco, one of Ireland's leading development companies. Lalco has invested over EUR80 million in the development of the two hotels. Together the hotels will create more than 250 jobs in the Dublin and Limerick areas.

The seven-story, 184-bedroom Limerick Hilton will have an entire floor dedicated to executive travellers with an executive lounge, a total of 14 'Hilton Meetings' rooms - with rooms on the seventh floor overlooking the city; a LivingWell health club with a 20m pool, full gym and beauty spa; a fine-dining restaurant, bar and caf'e bar; and function and wedding facilities for 450 guests.

The Hilton Dublin Kilmainham will have 120 rooms over five floors and will have leading-edge business facilities - including Hilton Meeting rooms, a brasserie restaurant and bar, leisure facilities including a large gym and hydrotherapy pool. The hotel is part of the Chocolate Factory development which also includes apartments, office and retail space.

Howard Friedman, Hilton's Area President for the UK and Ireland said: "Ireland has become a world class international destination for both UK and worldwide travellers alike.

"Strategically Hilton is looking to increase its presence in key international markets, and with these two developments coming on line, we will have a total of nine properties within the Hilton family, in Ireland.

"It's also important to note that these hotels will reflect the new modern face of Hilton with smart and innovative design, and a focus on additional lifestyle features for guests to appreciate and enjoy," he concluded.

John Lally, Managing Director of Lalco said: "These development projects have offered the opportunity to regenerate key sites in Dublin and Limerick.

"The Hilton Dublin Kilmainham Hotel is in a prime position at the edge of the city for business and leisure travellers, as well as providing local residents a modern social hub with the planned brasserie and bar.

"The Limerick project delivers to the city a top class hotel with modern and luxurious facilities," he added.

"We appointed Hilton to operate both hotels because the company's reputation matches the high calibre we want for the projects. Hilton is recognised globally as a pre-eminent hospitality brand synonymous with excellent service and a high quality product," he concluded.
