GenaRes Promotes Industry Veteran

JULY 26, 2005. GenaRes Worldwide Reservation Services announced the promotion of Ursula Rhode to executive vice president, global services.

With nearly 30 years of hotel and travel industry experience, Ms. Rhode joined GenaRes as vice president, global services, in February 2005. In her new position as executive vice president, her responsibilities have expanded and now include leadership of the following company departments: accounting, sales, voice operations, global distribution system management, account management, database management, customer service, information technology and marketing.

"Having previously worked with Ursula at Lexington Services, I was well aware of her exceptional capabilities and reputation," said Eugene Harris, president of GenaRes. "However, since joining GenaRes earlier this year, her management and leadership qualities have flourished, proving to me and the executive team that she is the best candidate for this important new executive vice president position. Prior to GenaRes, Ms. Rhode spent nine years with the reservations company Lexington Services and its successors VIP and Vantis. There she held several vice president positions in which she oversaw a variety of departments including marketing and data management, member services, global services, product development, and e-commerce.

Prior to Lexington, she expa nded her industry experience while employed at United Airlines, Galileo Quik Tix, System One Travel Resources and Pegasus Solutions Inc. Ms Rhode holds accreditation as a certified travel consultant (CTC) and speaks and writes fluent German. Born and educated in Germany, Ms. Rhode received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Liopa in West Germany.
