The transformation served to enhance the luxury resort's facilities, interiors and surrounding landscape, reflecting a sophisticated yet timeless spirit.

Long considered a Barbados landmark and set on Barbados' legendary West Coast, , Colony Club is a world-class retreat featuring 96 guestrooms and suites, private oceanfront access, two restaurants and bars, a fitness center, beauty salon and duty-free boutiques. The festive Sunset Bar continues to offer walk-up or swim-up waiter service, while the Planter's Lounge provides a relaxed setting for cocktails and live entertainment; each bar has been graced with a fresh, new look.

Founder of Barbados' Habitats Architectural Designs, Inc., Sandiford's unique design approach blends the principals of the eastern philosophy of Feng Shui with the architectural vernacular of the Caribbean and a high level of attention to detail. Sandiford has led a range of high-profile residential and hospitality design projects throughout the Caribbean. Parker is noted for her mastery of color and style and has consulted for a diverse regional and international clientele.

A Legacy of Luxury

Built as a sugarcane plantation home, Colony Club was purchased by shipping heiress Ann Embiricos, who ultimately developed the property in 1948 into a residential club and has since been credited as a pioneer of West Coast luxury hotel development in Barbados. Long considered a Barbados landmark, Colony Club is today the flagship resort of the Elegant Hotels Group.
