The Caraway Group Adds Leading Communications Strategist to Agency
WASHINGTON, DC, September 21, 2005. The Caraway Group, Inc., today announced that it has chosen David Albritton, one of the country's leading media strategists, to become its Senior Vice President of Communications.
In this role, Albritton will be responsible for managing the quality delivery of strategic public relations counsel and support to the agency's impressive client list, which includes Annie E. Casey Foundation, Heinz Family Foundations, MGM MIRAGE, and Microsoft. He will also help spearhead the agency's continued growth by trying to attract new clients to the agency's roster.

Most recently, Albritton served as the Vice President of Field and Communications for United Way of America, where he was responsible for strategic internal and external communications for the national leadership organization which represents all 1,350 local United Ways in the U.S. Prior to this, he was Director of Public Relations at Hewlett-Packard, responsible for strategic PR support of the HP Personal Systems Group - Americas organization, which included HP small-to-medium business and public sector (federal, state and local government) initiatives, commercial and consumer PCs, handhelds, connectivity products, as well as a variety of other programs and initiatives.
Albritton has also served as Senior Manager of Public Relations at Compaq Computer Corporation, and was responsible for public relations and tech analyst support for all consumer and commercial PCs, handhelds and connectivity products in the Access Business Group. As the Senior Public Relations Manager at Sears, Roebuck and Co., he supported a variety of businesses and product categories in the Sears Hardlines division to include Craftsman tools, DieHard batteries, Kenmore appliances, Sears Auto Centers, NTB National Tire & Battery stores, Sears Hardware stores and Sears Dealer stores.
Prior to Sears, Albritton spent 10 years as an officer in the U.S. Navy, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander (O-4) before leaving the service in 1998. His various assignments took him to more than 40 countries and included an extended tour aboard USS PORTLAND (LSD 37), which deployed for 8 months to the Persian Gulf in support of Operations DESERT SHEILD and DESERT STORM. He also served as an official Navy Spokesman on the Navy News Desk and as the Flag Lieutenant/Aide for the Navy's Chief of Information (a two-star admiral), both at the Pentagon; and almost three years in London, England as the Deputy Public Affairs Officer on the staff of the Commander-in-Chief, U.S. Naval Forces Europe, a four-star admiral. Albritton holds a B.S. in General Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy (1988), as well as an M.S. in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School (1993).
