Gleneagles Refurbishment Nears Completion

. October 14, 2008

OCTOBER 23, 2006. The Gleneagles Hotel, renowned as the ultimate destination for luxury and hospitality, will soon reveal a stunning redesign of its top floor rooms.

The refurbishment at the Perthshire AA Five Red Star hotel is scheduled for completion in May 2007. Award-winning international interior designer, Amanda Rosa, has been commissioned to create the interiors for ten new ultra-luxury suites. Amanda has already lent her contemporary signature style to the resort's Braid House and its seasonal ownership homes at Glenmor.

Amanda Rosa comments: "The new top floor suites will have stunning views of the Perthshire countryside and it is important that the design reflects this. The use of natural shades, coupled with our signature blend of classic and contemporary elements, create an informal look that is perfect for rest and relaxation, with a certain emphasis on luxury."

Of the ten suites, the Tower Suite will be split level with two bedrooms and a bathroom situated on the lower floor, with a spiral staircase leading to a second floor lounge. A further eight two bedroom and a one bedroom suite complete the configuration. The suites will have a contemporary feel, dressed in natural soothing tones of sage, cream and brown with warmth and depth created using a mix of silk, velvet and cotton textures. The top floor will also include a boardroom, which will have a relaxed, non-corporate feel, incorporating colour schemes from the suites.

George Graham, Development Director at Gleneagles, said: "As one of the world's leading resorts it is important that we continually review and evolve the facilities we are able to offer our guests. We play host to a wide variety of guests and functions, from small family celebrations to the G8 summit, so everything we do must reflect that."

With an evolving trend for guests to request accommodation in suites, either for family or business use, Gleneagles prides itself on listening to loyal guests. The new suites will be perfect for guests wishing a romantic weekend away or a private business meeting.

The lb3.5million project will be managed by Hugh Martin Architects in Edinburgh and is part of the wider lb18 million development programme at Gleneagles in preparation for hosting the Ryder Cup in 2014.

Set in 850 acres of stunning Perthshire scenery and just one hour's drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh, the resort offers a wide range of packages for leisure and business. For further information, please contact Resort Sales on 0800 704 705 or visit www.gleneagles.com .
