Business Travel Professionals Earn Certification at First Asia Pacific Course
BANGKOK, Thailand, October 9, 2008. The National Business Travel Association, in partnership with TTG Asia Media, offered NBTA's Fundamentals of Business Management/CTE course for the first time in the Asia Pacific region at the 2008 IT&CMA & CTW Asia-Pacific event in Bangkok, Thailand, this week. Upon completion of the course, designed as a guide to the primary components of managed travel specifically within the Asia Pacific region, 28 corporate travel professionals earned the Corporate Travel ExpertSM (CTE) designation.
The Fundamentals course teaches participants how to maximize costs, improve efficiency and create a managed travel culture within their companies. Attendees interacted with expert course facilitators Karen Davies, Director, NBTA Asia Pacific, and David Lorimer, Government Services, American Express, on travel safety and security, travel spending trends and benchmark metrics. An overview of business travel technology was included, along with a comprehensive discussion on travel policy implementation, savings opportunities and calculation of Return on Investment (ROI) of a managed travel program.
NBTA President & CEO Kevin Maguire said: "These corporate travel professionals now have important additional resources to prove to their companies the importance of managed travel and have taken a large step in advancing their careers. I would encourage them to continue their professional development by taking advantage of future corporate travel education opportunities offered throughout the Asia Pacific region and around the world."
NBTA also partners with TTG Asia Media to organize and host the annual Corporate Travel & Technology World China (CT&TW China) in Shanghai. Business travel professionals attend CT&TW China to discuss the latest developments in the Chinese corporate travel industry. The 2009 CT&TW China, to be held 12-14 April, is expected to host more than 260 corporate travel buyers and suppliers.
