ICCNA Elects New Officers, Tom Cappucci Serves as President

ST. LOUIS, MO, October 23, 2008. At the recent meeting of the Board of Directors at BMO Institute for Learning in Toronto, Ontario, the Board of Directors of the International Association of Conference Centers of North America elected new officers for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2009.

Tom Cappucci, General Manager of University Place Hotel & Conference Center in Indianapolis, IN was unanimously elected President, having recently served as Secretary, Treasurer and First Vice President. A former Chair of the Annual Conference Planning Committee, Cappucci is the recipient of the association's Pyramid Award and Award of Excellence. He has been a presenter at the Annual Conference, the Cornell course and the IACC Institute and served as Chair or Co-Chair of a number of other committees.

Tim Martin, Global Vice President, Facilities and Vendor Relations for Duke Corporate Education, was elected First Vice President after having served as Treasurer, Secretary. Martin was Chair of the Annual Conference Planning Committee and Executive Committee liaison to the Marketing Committee.

Peter Stockmann, CEO of 3P Business Solutions, was elected Second Vice President. Stockman has served on the IACC Global Board of Directors and on the Annual Conference Planning Committee for 13 years. Recipient of the Award of Excellence and Pyramid Award, Stockmann was Chair of the Education Committee and also served as Director of IACC Education.

TJ Fimmano, General Manager of GE Crotonville, was elected Treasurer. Fimmano was Chair of the Annual Conference Planning Committee after having served for eight years; facilitator of the IACC Institute for three years; and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Sustainability Committee.

Steve Sackman, Regional Director, Sales & Marketing for Destination Hotels & Resorts, was elected Secretary. Serving his first term on the Board of Directors, Sackman is Chair of the Marketing Committee and also serves on the IACC Online Planning Committee.

IACC Global Officers

At the Association's first European Conference at the Scarman House at University of Warwick in August, the Global Board of Directors elected officers.

Neil Pompan, CMP, Vice President with Thayer Lodging Group, was unanimously elected President of the IACC Global Board of Directors. Pompan has served in an array of committee positions and as Treasurer, Second Vice President and President of IACC North America. He will begin his two-year term as President of IACC-Global on January 1, 2009.

Steen Broby-Rahr of Denmark's Comwell Klarskovgaard as elected to serve another term as First Vice President. A 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Steen has been active with IACC since 1988 and has served as a member of the Global Board of Directors since 2004. He currently serves as President of IACC's Denmark Chapter and recently served as First Vice President of IACC Global.

Carin Skoglund, CEO of Bergendal Meetings in Sollentuna, Sweden, was elected Secretary of IACC Global. She has been active in hospitality for more than 25 years, and recently served as First Vice President of the Board of Directors for IACC's Sweden Chapter.
