Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, Miami Renovates Guestrooms

. November 06, 2008

NOVEMBER 5, 2008. The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, Miami, the area's only AAA Five Diamond hotel and one of only two "boutique" hotels within The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company introduces the Italian Renaissance design prevalent throughout it public spaces to its 115 guestrooms and suites with a renovation that includes Italian Renaissance damask patterns, Carrara marble bathrooms and dark Emperador marble-topped dressers that create the feeling of being in a luxurious, private villa. The design enhancements by Holly Kappes of Atlanta-based Design Continuum, continue with the hotel's original design inspiration of nearby historic landmark, Villa Vizcaya, and include modern touches such as new, larger flat panel televisions in every guestroom and suite.

Design details include sophisticated tones of turquoise, pomegranate and gold that enrich the fabrics and complement the rich mahogany millwork and furnishings. Decorative lamps are accented with trimmed and patterned silk lamp shades. Style meets substance in the living area with stylized and well-proportion high-back seating for additional comfort, while down pillows on the beds feature detailed trim and lumbar support. The skyline window views are framed with bold silk stripe draperies topped with a Roman shade woven rattan valance.

The guest room corridors underscore the private villa feel with vintage Italian Renaissance damask patterns found at Villa Vizcaya, which complement fabric designs reinterpreted in an opulent scale to create the feeling of grandeur. A custom fleur-de-lis carpet pattern flows through the corridors in an undulating, bold scale.

The area's only AAA Five Diamond hotel opened in 2002 as one of only two "boutique" hotels in The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and is situated in one of the world's most vibrant and desirable destinations. Offering highly personalized service in an intimate setting, the 115-room Italian Renaissance-style property is within minutes of the Biscayne Bay, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables and area attractions. Set on four acres of lushly landscaped gardens, the hotel features a Boutique Spa with Payot and Phytomer treatments, nationally recognized Bizcaya restaurant, the stylish Lounge overlooking a cascading waterfall and large terrace pool. The Reconnect(R) Package offers exceptional value at $329 plus tax, and includes deluxe room, breakfast buffet for two at Bizcaya, valet parking and a $20 credit to be used in The Boutique Spa.
