Barcelo Maya Unveils Spa
NOVEMBER 7, 2006. A luxury designed Spa is the newest addition to The Barcelo Maya Beach Resort in Mexico.
The expansive all-inclusive resort complex that includes the Premium Level five-star Barcelo Maya Tropical and Colonial Beach Hotels is adding a 296,000 square meter luxury spa with Mayan influenced architecture and European style spa services. The facility will open this December in time for the winter travel season.
The new Spa is located in a beautiful garden area of the resort offering a tranquil retreat for guests. Treatment services will include Swedish and Mayan style massage, couples massage, flotation therapy, hydrotherapy and Vichy showers. In addition, there will be a traditional Mayan Temazal Lodge (a traditional Indian sweat lodge). Other services include eight outdoor cabins for tropical massages, and full beauty services such as facials, manicures, pedicures and hairstyling. For relaxation there is a resting area with an indoor waterfall overlooking the gardens.
Adjacent to the spa is an expanded fitness center with new cardiovascular equipment such as stairmasters, elliptical trainers and an Ultratile floor designed for cushioning. The new spa and fitness center is connected via covered archway to the existing fitness center which will now house the weight and fitness room. Spa services will be available by reservation and at an additional fee for the resort's all-inclusive guests. The resort is also planning on offering Spa Packages in 2007.
