Carlos F. Melgar Named Hotel Equities Corporate Controller
ATLANTA, GA, December 18, 2008 - Atlanta-based Hotel Equities (HE) recently named Carlos F. Melgar to the position of Corporate Controller. His responsibilities include overseeing the accounting and financial functions for the company. He reports to Alan Bennett, Senior Vice President and CFO of Hotel Equities.

Mr. Melgar has spent more than 10 years in financial analytics in the lodging industry. Before the move to Hotel Equities, he served six years as Senior Vice President, Controller and Asset Management for Premier Hotel Corporation, a full-service management company based in Atlanta. Previously, he worked as the Senior Analyst for Six Continents Hotels supporting Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza and all of the Mexico Franchise Operations. Before that, he spent two years as the Senior Analyst with the southeast regional office of Choice Hotels International.
Mr. Melgar is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Accounting. He and his wife Linda are the parents of two young children. An avid runner, Mr. Melgar also enjoys playing golf. He is active in the children's ministry at his church. He and his family reside in Suwanee, Georgia.
