Stephen Quigg Appointed Executive Chef at Wyndham Nassau
NASSAU, Bahamas, February 24, 2009 - The Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace Casino today announced the appointment of Stephen Quigg as executive chef, responsible for managing its culinary operations and developing new dining and catering concepts.
With more than 25 years of culinary experience, Quigg joins the Wyndham Nassau Resort team from Sandals Whitehouse, Jamaica, where he served as executive chef for three years, delighting guests with his fusion of Asian, Italian, French, Caribbean, Southwest and American cuisine.
After graduating from the Culinary Arts Program at George Brown College in Toronto, Quigg's passion for food took him from Canada to London before finally making his way to the Caribbean in 1998 where he worked as an executive chef at The Reefs Beach Resort and then the Wyndham Bermuda Resort and Spa, both in Southampton, Bermuda.
"As executive chef at Wyndham Nassau Resort, Chef Quigg will be responsible for coordinating, supervising and directing all aspects of the resort's food production," said Managing Director Jeffry Humes. "His extensive experience in the Caribbean, combined with his innovative and eclectic mix of culinary influences, will add a new level of quality to the cuisine and service guests receive when dining at each of the resort's nine restaurants."
Situated in the heart of Cable Beach, the Wyndham Nassau Resort offers 559 guestrooms each equipped with flat-screen televisions and in-room refrigerators. Resort amenities include nine restaurants and lounges, tropical pool complete with rock formations, spiral waterslide and floating island, whirlpool, private ocean swimming lagoon, snorkeling, parasailing and kayaking, among other water sports.
The resort's 30,000-square-foot Crystal Palace Casino features more than 400 state-of-the-art coinless slot machines, nearly 40 table games and is also home to the area's only sports book.
