MARCH 5, 2009 - Motel 6 announces its partnership with the American Kennel Club (AKC(R)) to offer AKC registered dog owners a discounted price on Motel 6 and Studio 6 room reservations across the country. Pet friendly since 1962 and with more than 1,000 properties across the United States, Motel 6 offers the lowest price of any national hotel/motel chain and is pleased to be able to help AKC registrants save money on lodging and offer a clean, comfortable room during their travels.

"The American Kennel Club is a highly respected organization, and we're happy to offer registered dogs and their owners a place to rest on their way to and from their competitive events," said Olivier Poirot, CEO for Accor North America, Motel 6 and Studio 6. "We're happy to welcome AKC registrants with a discount at our properties nationwide."

"We are pleased to work with Motel 6 to offer AKC registered dog owners discounts during these tough economic times," said Dennis Sprung, President/CEO, AKC. "Last year alone, the AKC sanctioned more than 20,000 events that drew more than three million entries. These added savings will help AKC registrants find a comfortable place to rest with their dogs on their way to and from competitive events or while they are traveling on vacation."

To reserve a room and activate their discount 10%, all AKC registrants can log on to www.motel6.com and enter access code CP542764 for Motel 6 and visit www.staystudio6.com and enter the access code CP542765 for Studio 6 reservations.

Motel 6 offers a low price and great value without sacrificing comfort. Standard amenities include free local phone calls, no long distance access charges, free morning coffee, data ports, Wi-Fi Internet access and a channel line-up including HBO, ESPN/ESPN2, and CNN. All Motel 6 properties welcome pets, and most locations offer swimming pools and guest laundry facilities.
