Kor Appoints Rob Henderson as DOSM for Viceroy Snowmass
LOS ANGELES, CA, April 15, 2009 - Nicholas Clayton, President of Kor Hotel Management, a growing global presence in luxury hospitality, is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Rob Henderson as Director of Sales and Marketing for Viceroy Snowmass. Henderson will oversee all sales and marketing operations for Kor Hotel Management's first mountain resort, a ski-in/ski-out retreat set within the new $1 billion Snowmass Base Village development in Colorado. The hotel will open in late 2009.
"Rob has tallied up two decades of sales management experience at some of the country's most prominent international hotel groups and arrives in plenty of time to lead the opening of Viceroy Snowmass," said Clayton in making the announcement. "Counting numerous years with properties based in the Colorado Rockies, Rob has done a fine job of maintaining and expanding occupancy rates and revamping, reinvigorating and repositioning aspects of hotels as he saw necessary. That's the sort of initiative that will serve Kor well as we look forward to opening our first mountain destination resort."
Henderson joins Viceroy Snowmass with superb sales and marketing experience earned at prestigious hotel groups including Starwood, Destination Hotels & Resorts and Hilton. He was also the Founder and Managing Partner of Mariner Consulting, a hospitality sales & marketing firm based in Basalt, Colorado.
Prior to going out on his own, Henderson was a steady player in the hospitality sales and marketing game. Most recently, he was DOSM at St. Regis Resort in Aspen, Colorado, where he oversaw a 15% jump in occupancy rates and took the hotel's competitive market share ratings to the top of 33 Starwood properties throughout the southwest region. His position at the St. Regis Resort lasted five years.
Before that, Henderson enjoyed a six-year run at Destination properties including Garden of Gods Club in Colorado Springs and Vail Cascade Resort. At the former, he led sales and marketing through a management takeover, achieving a profit for club ownership for the first time in more than 20 years. At the latter, Henderson and his team was able to grow the five-year group backlog by 20 percent and revenue by 30 percent while successfully contributing to the repositioning of the resort to the upscale category - achieving AAA 4-Diamond and Mobil 4-Star ratings annually.
Other properties that have experienced Henderson's touch include Rancho Santa Barbara Marriott, Breckenridge Hilton, Sutton Place Hotel in Toronto, the Bel Age Hotel and Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. He got his start with ITT Sheraton Hotels and Resorts after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Colorado - Boulder.
