PTLA Names Craig Poole 2009 GM f the Year
GM of Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport,
HARRISBURG, PA, May 11, 2009 - The PA Tourism & Lodging Association (PTLA) held its Annual Spirit of Hospitality Awards Reception on April 27, 2009, at the Radisson Valley Forge Hotel in King of Prussia. These prestigious awards recognize outstanding performance, commitment, and achievements in the hospitality and tourism industry throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The event, held in the beautiful Waterford Room, featured an upscale reception with wines sponsored by Mazza Vineyards and a wide array of hors d'oeuvre. The presentations were made by: J. Mickey Rowley, Deputy Secretary, Tourism Film & Marketing, PA Department of Community and Economic Development; and James Purdum, CHA, General Manager, Penn State Hospitality Services, The Pennsylvania State University and Vice-Chairman of the PTLA Board of Directors.
The General Manager of the Year Award honors a general manager who has demonstrated professionalism in operating a property and taken a leadership role in the industry by actively participating in association, community, or industry programs.
Craig Poole is the General Manager of Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport. Craig is passionate about everything he undertakes-whether it's personally greeting guests at 6 a.m. in the dining room or plating meals in the kitchen during a wedding reception. He takes that passion and infuses it to the people he works with, and to the greater community as well. He has helped the hotel partner with a local charity and has delivered Christmas gifts and led fund drives throughout the year.
