Dan Howard Named Director of Membership Sales at San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Novwember 10, 2005. Dan Howard has been named Director of Membership Sales for the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau (SFCVB). "Daniel's extensive background in the tourism industry and specifically with convention and visitors bureaus makes him a valuable addition to our team," said Dan Goldes, SFCVB vice president, member and community relations. Howard brings 15 years of tourism industry experience to the position, including eight years as Executive Director of the 500-member Napa Valley Conference & Visitors Bureau and three years as General Manager of the 250-member Beverly Hills Visitors Bureau.

He has served as a board member of the California Travel Industry Association (CalTIA), NCCMPI, and the San Francisco Bay Area Vacation Council. While on staff at two of New York's largest advertising agencies, Saatchi & Saatchi and WPP Group, Howard worked for the tourism boards of Thailand, Bermuda, Spain and Mexico He also has assisted foreign government tourist offices in structuring visitors bureaus in Australia, Canada, Chile, Italy, New Zealand, Scotland and South Africa.

Howard is an accomplished actor who started his professional career onstage with San Francisco Opera's Boys Chorus at 10 years of age. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Southern California and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Harvard University.
