Red Roof Inn Completes 100th Property Renovation

. October 14, 2008

CARROLTON, TX, February 20, 2006. Red Roof Inn has completed renovations on its 100th property as part of its ongoing plan to redefine its economy lodging position. The property, located in West Palm Beach, FL, underwent a $1.5 million makeover that occurred before and then again after Hurricane Wilma destroyed nearly all of the property's redesigned rooms. The 100th renovated property also had to complete new safety measures, such as implementing hurricane-proof window glass that can sustain 140-mile-an-hour winds, due to the threat of future hurricanes.

In 2004, Red Roof Inn began implementing a $200 million multiyear national renovation plan that features a new, modern lobby with a flat-panel television set, seating and a gourmet coffee service area.

Redesigned guestrooms are enhanced with contemporary furnishings and residential accents that include upgraded bedding, broader in-room entertainment options and Wi-Fi service. The rooms also feature sleek, blond furnishings, granite countertops, bold accent wall color, pewter-finished light fixtures and bathrooms with European-style rounded shower curtains.

In addition, Red Roof Inn's Business King Rooms now feature an ergonomic, executive-style work chair, an L-shaped desk that faces the television set and a built-in microwave and refrigerator. According to Joe Wheeling, COO/Red Roof Inn, the company is at the halfway point in its renovations, with plans to expand into new major markets. Red Roof Inn has spent more than $100 million renovating more than 12,000 rooms in major markets, including Baltimore, Chicago, Philadelphia and Detroit.
