Embassy Suites Picks Best of the Brand

AUSTIN, TX, February 23, 2006. Embassy Suites Hotels recognized its top hotels during an awards ceremony at the brand's annual General Manager and Directors of Sales conference, held in Austin, Texas.

More than 40 awards were presented to hotels chosen from the brand's portfolio of more than 180 hotels throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America.

Each honored hotel received a trophy, monetary prize and individual recognition during the conference.

"Each of our hotels and their team members work extremely hard to deliver the ultimate in guest satisfaction for which the Embassy brand is known," said David Greydanus, senior vice president, brand management, Embassy Suites hotels. "Everything they do -- from providing a hot, cooked to order breakfast each morning to a comfortable bed for travelers each night, and highly valued services in between that enable guests to be more productive -- helps ensure guest loyalty. We are pleased to honor the Embassy Suites Hotels that epitomize what our brand is all about -- guest satisfaction and a high level of customer service."

The Connie Awards, named in honor of company founder Conrad Hilton, are awarded based on three key components, including: quality assurance audits measuring cleanliness, condition and brand standards; customer scores rating staff service; and customer service scores rating the quality of the hotel's physical accommodations.

The top three hotels to receive Connie Awards included:

-- Embassy Suites Hotel - Lubbock, Texas

-- Embassy Suites Hotel - North Charleston-Airport/Convention Center, SC

-- Embassy Suites Hotel - Portland-Downtown, Ore.

The Hervey Feldman Award, is named in honor of one of the pioneers of the Embassy Suites brand and the brand's first president, recognizes the Embassy Suites General Manager of Year. This honor went to Peter Steketee, general manager of the Embassy Suites Hotel - Tampa - USF/Near Bush Gardens, FL.

Brad Zimmer, director of sales at the Embassy Suites Hotel - Syracuse, NY, was awarded Director of Sales of the Year, while the sales team at the Embassy Suites Hotel - Des Moines - On the River, Iowa was awarded the Sales Team of the Year Award.

The awards are given to individuals who demonstrate leadership, accountability, business sense and creativity in the area of sales for their hotel.

Special conference recognition went to Lou Weckstein, former President of John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, LLC and Perry Sorenson, former EVP and COO of Outrigger Enterprises, Inc. for their outstanding service and commitment to the Embassy Suites Hotels brand.

Both gentlemen have been instrumental in the founding, development and growth of the Embassy Suites brand and have made significant contributions.
