Vail Resorts Names CEO, Plans Denver Move
DENVER, CO, February 28, 2006. Vail Resorts Inc. has named Robert Katz, a longtime board member, to be its new CEO and soon will relocate its corporate headquarters from Avon, CO, to the Metro Denver area.
Katz replaced Adam Aron, who retired. Board member Joe Micheletto has succeeded Aron as chairman.
Publicly traded Vail Resorts is one of the country's largest owners of ski resorts. The company's Colorado resorts include Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone. It also owns the Heavenly ski area on the California-Nevada border.
Vail Resorts' RockResorts management company, which operates 10 luxury hotels across the country, is relocating to Denver as well.
