Biltmore Announces Premier Membership Program
Re-conceptualized Dining, Private Poolside Cabanas, Continuing Golf Course Improvements Further Enha
CORAL GABLES, FL, March 6, 2006. The Biltmore, in 2006, is introducing a new luxury spa, a new poolside restaurant and bar, private, furnished poolside cabanas and other enhancements to facilities and grounds. These are part of an investment of more than $40 million to create Miami's most sophisticated and multi-faceted resort experience, a move that began with re-conceptualizing The Biltmore's restaurants to offer experienced world travelers dining choices second to none in the Southeast. Most recently that effort was rewarded with the resort's signature restaurant - Palme d'Or - being named Best Restaurant in South Florida by the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association. To add another major dimension to the unique Biltmore guest experience, the resort is also launching an exclusive Biltmore Premier Membership program that, in effect, creates a private country club environment for national and international travelers.
"Those travelers who haven't seen The Biltmore recently need to come have another look. They will be amazed by what they experience," said Dennis Doucette, the resort's general manager. "A few years ago, we brought in a brilliant young French chef, Philippe Ruiz, and transformed our restaurants to the point that The Biltmore has become a "must-do" dining scene in South Florida. We've invested heavily in celebrating the iconic architecture and design of the hotel through careful restoration and renovation. We completely redid all the guestrooms and continue to make improvements on the golf course. Now, we are delighted to introduce several more major additions."
Visually one of the most stunning in America, The Biltmore Spa is on the seventh floor of the hotel, with panoramic views of Coral Gables, the golf course and grounds. Guests are greeted with rippling water walls, sparkling geometric pools flowing over pebbles, and a bamboo bridge leading to inviting treatment rooms. A relaxation lounge features full-length chaise lounges. Couples suites with whirlpool baths for two and Vichy showers are available as well.
Spa treatments and services include a selection of massages, facials, body wraps, kurs, exotic Bamboo Lemongrass treatments, Chardonnay baths and more. There is a full service hair and nail salon featuring state-of-the-art pedicure chairs, a spa boutique offering beauty products and clothing, and spa guests are encouraged to avail themselves of The Biltmore's extensive fitness programs, including a large selection of aqua programs in the pool. The Fitness Center, ranked among the top 10 in the U.S. by Men's Fitness magazine, is located adjacent to the 700,000-gallon swimming pool, the largest hotel pool in America. Also enlivening The Biltmore's pool experience is the new Cascade Restaurant and Boules Bar. Perched on the edge of the water, with perfect views of the finishing hole on the golf course, the new "social scene" features a diverse menu ranging from Florida stone crab to char-grilled churasco steaks to healthy, organic spa cuisine. The bar features fresh fruit tropical drinks as well as an organic juice bar. Guests also can enjoy a lively game of Bocce. Areca and coconut palms as well as umbrellas provide another touch of elegance to this al fresco setting.
Across the pool, with palms, hibiscus and bougainvillea creating a setting of seductive privacy, are the Biltmore's new Pool Cabanas. These discrete sanctuaries, with a dedicated staff of cabana butlers to attend them, are furnished with overstuffed chaise lounges wrapped in Egyptian cotton, with rich wood furniture, mosaic tile finishes, outdoor showers and even internet access. Other improvements to facilities include substantial work on the classic Donald Ross-designed golf course to improve the fairways with Bermuda grass, create a new irrigation system, introduce a state-of-the-art GPS system in golf carts and other improvements to the level of service and maintenance provided. Elsewhere at the resort, landscaping and beautification projects have been completed or are ongoing.
