Whitetail Club & Resort Names New GM

Seasoned Hospitality Executive Tapped to Run Luxury Mountain Retreat in McCall, Idaho

. October 14, 2008

MCCALL, ID, May 11, 2006. Veteran hotelier T. Steele Edwards Jr., has been named general manager of Whitetail Club & Resort - a luxury lakefront resort owned and operated by San Diego-based Manchester Grand Resorts and situated on 1,100 pristine acres in Northern Idaho.

In his new position, Edwards will oversee the day-to-day operations of this increasingly popular wilderness retreat on Payette Lake, which is located in McCall, a small mountain town located 100 miles north of Boise.

Edwards will work closely with Whitetail President John Sabala to oversee staff management and direct operations for the resort, which includes 77 suites, casual and formal dining venues, a spectacular 18-hole championship golf course, a swimming pool, a lakefront marina, meeting and banquet facilities and two tennis courts.

With extensive expertise in sales and marketing, staff development, service training and facilities management for luxury destination resorts, Edwards has more than 35 years of hospitality experience. He has managed high-profile properties throughout the U.S., including Hawaii, Arizona, Florida and California.

Edwards was most recently general manager of the Makaha Resort & Golf Club in Oahu in Hawaii, where he ran a 173-room resort and championship golf course. In addition, Edwards has spearheaded operations at such noted properties as the 485-room French Lick Golf & Spa Resort in Indiana; the 562-room Intercontinental Maui Golf & Spa Resort in Hawaii; the 576-room Pointe at Squaw Peak Resort & Spa in Phoenix; the 510-room Pan Pacific Hotel in Anaheim; and the 100- room Cape Coral Golf & Tennis Resort, a boutique property on the west coast of Florida.

According to Sabala, Edwards is the ideal candidate to spearhead operations at Whitetail, "Steele's extensive expertise in sales and marketing and service training will help us take this highly desirable property to the next level," he said. "We are extremely pleased to have him on the Whitetail team."

A long celebrated piece of McCall history, Whitetail was originally opened in 1948 as the Shore Lodge. In 1993, San Diego-based Manchester Grand Resorts purchased the resort and in 1999 embarked on an ambitious $25 million renovation - creating a luxurious resort and country club. Following the refurbishment, the number of rooms went from 116 to 77, turning Whitetail into an all-suite resort; and the level of service and number of amenities and luxuries increased dramatically.

Resort highlights now include: 18 holes of championship golf; two tennis courts; a racquetball court; boating and water activities; two restaurants (fine dining and casual venues); a bar adjacent to the lobby; a sandy beach; a swimming pool; two expansive hot tubs; a 45-seat movie theater; facial and massage treatment rooms; a sauna and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.

Despite its secluded location, Whitetail is remarkably easy to reach. Eight major airlines service Boise International Airport. From Boise, travelers enjoy a beautiful two-hour drive up Highway 55 - along the Payette River - to Whitetail Club & Resort.

Whitetail Club & Resort is located at 501 West Lake Street, McCall, ID. For reservations and more information, call, toll free, 1-800-657-6464; or visit the website at www.whitetailclub.com.
