Luxury Travellers Vote Crown Towers Best Australian Hotel

. October 14, 2008

DECEMBER 14, 2006. Crown Towers has once again been awarded one of the highest accolades in the tourism industry, winning Australia's premier luxury travel award as Best Australian Hotel in the Luxury Travel Magazine Gold List Awards 2007.

The awards are the result of a survey conducted by Luxury Travel Magazine. Tens of thousands of their travel-savvy readers participated and nominated their best experiences to determine the World's Best Hotels, Resorts, Spas, Cruise Lines, Golf Courses, Airlines and Destinations - a total of 22 categories in all.

Well travelled clients of Virtuoso - the most exclusive collection of elite luxury travel agents in the world and affluent clients of prestige car brand Lexus, also voted in the survey, making this one of the most comprehensive luxury travel surveys ever conducted by an Australian travel magazine.

"Our survey shows that Australians really are among the world's best travellers and increasingly discerning when it comes to recognising true luxury and style," said Hilary Doling, Editor in Chief of Luxury Travel Magazine.

Peter Crinis, Executive General Manager of Crown Towers commented, "We are honoured that Crown Towers has been awarded this prestigious accolade. The opinions of our guests and their continued support are very important to us. This coveted honour reinforces our guests' confidence in our services and facilities, and is an encouragement to all our staff to whom credit should be attributed for their efforts in maintaining the highest standards of service."

The extensive online survey was conducted between September and October this year and offered no prompts to respondents, simply allowing them to choose their three favourite luxury travel experiences in each category. The responses were tabulated electronically and the results listed in order of votes polled.

Some of the other winners included The Peninsula, Hong Kong - Best Overseas Hotel and Banyan Tree Phuket, Thailand - Best Overseas Resort. Luxury travellers voted Singapore Airlines' first class the best and Qantas took top spot for its business class. Australia was voted the world's Best Country.
