Luxury 19th Century Hacienda-Style Resort Receives Exquisite New D'ecor and
CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico, June 19, 2006. Casa del Mar Beach Golf & Spa, an intimate hacienda-style luxury resort located in the trendy Tourist Corridor of Cabo San Lucas, announces a spectacular US$2 million-plus renovation and refurbishment, some of which has already begun. Under new ownership and management by Grand Heritage Hotels Group, one of North America's premier owner-operators of independent luxury hotels specializing in preserving, maintaining and flourishing the unique legacy of each of its jewels, Casa del Mar's new enhancements will be carefully planned in different phases to ensure minimum disturbance to its guests. The work is scheduled for completion by October 2006. "We are very excited about our property's improvements, as these will enhance the essence of the 19th century luxury hacienda-style ambiance and guest experience," said Oscar Ornelas, General Manager of Casa del Mar.
The theme of the resort's new d'ecor will be luxury combined with contemporary Mexican colors, textures and furnishings. The spacious 56 ocean-view Hacienda Junior Suites will be transformed into beautifully appointed guest rooms with a classic design that evokes the days of the old Mexican haciendas. Cotton, manta (raw Mexican cotton), and raw silk fabrics in a palette of beige, sand, orange, and rust colors will complement the soft goods. The renovated guestrooms will also feature new pieces of Antigua furniture from Guadalajara, Mexico; new Mexican artwork; new area rugs with contemporary Mexican design; raised platform beds with 450-thread count 100-percent Egyptian cotton bedding, Jacuzzi bathtubs, walk-in marble showers and a private terrace overlooking the Sea of Cortes. Each suite boasts 400 square feet and a king-sized or two full-sized beds. Additional amenities include a deluxe minibar with Voss water, Orangina, Evian, fine chocolates and premium spirits, plus bathrobes and slippers, Aveda toiletries, a direct-dial phone, air-conditioning and celing fans, satellite TV, plasma television sets, a safety deposit box, hairdryer, and iron and board and in-room wireless Internet service.
El Tapanco, the resort's signature restaurant renowned for its gourmet Latin American and Caribbean fusion menu designed by Executive Chef Jennifer Michelle O'Toole, will feature new terracotta tiles. El Maguey Bar will feature a new fresh look Grand Cava style and a brand new tapas menu. The Pool Bar, which serves light cuisine under the poolside palapa, will feature new Barcelona pool furniture and umbrellas. The resort's seaside lounge lit by tiki torches after dusk, the Mezquite Grill on the Beach, will also feature new Barcelona pool furniture and umbrellas, a new kitchen, a new bar and two new bathrooms.
The Sue~nos del Mar Spa will undergo a complete transformation, which will even include its name! The Guerlain-Spa Chakra Alliance design and operation experts known worldwide for creating ground breaking, visually stunning wellness spa concepts inspired by the best European and Asian design elements will both revamp and manage the new Spa Chakra, scheduled to open in September. This will be the only one of its kind in Mexico and will feature en suite and personal bathroom amenities and an upgraded menu of indigenous treatments. In addition, Spa Chakra will offer fully catered luncheons for guests enjoying a full-day spa package. The fitness center will also form part of the Spa Chakra upgrade.
The Meeting Room will feature new state-of-the-art chairs, audiovisual system and soundproofing. The charming area set aside for relaxation known as the Library will also be refurbished including new carpeting and will become a new meeting room. In addition, the resort will offer a new guest Lounge facility featuring leather chairs, a library and computers. The tennis and paddle tennis courts and the business center will also be refurbished. Wi-Fi services have already been added, and an ambience sound system will be installed through the entire resort.
