Linda Smogor Named General Manager of Doubletree Hotel Chicago-Arlington Heights
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL, June 23, 2006. General manager Linda Smogor is a dedicated individual who brings years of experience to the new Doubletree Hotel Chicago-Arlington Heights (75 W. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Smogor has worked in hotels since 1997. She was first hired as the assistant manager of the Crowne Plaza Silversmith in Chicago, and soon worked her way up to general manager. The hotel received the Torchbearer award (top Crowne Plaza hotel in the system) two years in a row, along with the Priority Club Members Choice Award (for best overall hotel in North America) in 2000. Before joining the Doubletree Hotel Chicago-Arlington Heights, Smogor worked as interim general manager for the Holiday Inn Express Palatine for over a year and as a Regional Hotel Manager for F&F Realty in the Chicago area.
Smogor's success as general manager is due to a combination of owner David Friedman's high quality standards and vision for the hotel, plus her hard working and competitive nature. As general manager, Smogor oversees the day-to-day activities of the hotel and ensures that all planning, directing, brand standard and quality compliance measures are met. "I try to lead through example," Smogor says. She also works closely with the sales team, while coaching and mentoring managers and associates.
