Joie de Vivre Renovates Second Financial San Fancisco Hotel

. October 14, 2008

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 27, 2006. Joie de Vivre (JdV) Hospitality announced today a $6.5 million renovation plan for the Galleria Park Hotel. This renovation will present travelers with the only affordable and hip boutique alternative in the middle of San Francisco's thriving business district. It is Joie de Vivre's second Financial District hotel with the company having opened the luxury boutique Hotel Vitale on the Embarcadero waterfront in 2005.

The complete upgrade that introduces vibrant tones, flat-screen televisions and 300-thread-count Frette linens to all of the 177 guestrooms will also incorporate high-speed, hard-wired and wireless internet service and ergonomic desk chairs. The business and fitness centers, meeting space, and lobby will also receive a full remodel, restoring many of the hotel's traditional and warm features while integrating contemporary accents.

JdV's approach to this complete remodel is similar in concept to other design projects the company is known for. Using a magazine (or hybrid of two) as the organizing principle for the hotel, Joie de Vivre has found that the words that would describe their model magazine also became a touchstone for the hotel's personality as well as their likely core customers. At the Galleria Park, the two magazines (Business Week fused with Vanity Fair) and their resulting five words (traditional, engaging, warm, savvy-sensible and classy) were influential in shaping the renovation designs and the hotel's unique services.

This renewal is an intentional reflection of the individuals visiting the area, in addition to being a representation of the location itself. Positioned at the intersection of the posh eastern portion of Union Square and the Financial District, the remodel of Galleria Park Hotel will ensure that it offers the best of both worlds to its guests. "Our locality is ideal for both work and play. Out the lobby doors heading east, one is just a few steps away from the business hub of San Francisco. Heading in the other direction, guests are surrounded by the West Coast's premier shopping district, boasting several retail flagship stores," said General Manager Paul Frentsos.

By combining its location with a comfortable ambiance while meeting the expectations of today's technology-focused traveler, the new Galleria Park Hotel more than addresses the intensifying trend of people combining business and pleasure. And to ensure quality service with these industrious guests, a Guest Experience Manager, dedicated entirely to guest satisfaction, will attend to the needs of all Galleria Park clients. Different from a concierge, this individual will ensure all guest service issues are handled efficiently, oversee the internal guest loyalty program, amenity deliveries and VIP services along wit the employee recognition program.

Galleria Park's renovation is scheduled for completion in early October, in time for San Francisco's convention season. Business travelers will revel in the fact that no other nearby property will offer the personality or high-touch service that only a boutique property can provide. Rates for the Galleria Park Hotel start at $159, based on availability through 2006. Reservations can be made by visiting galleriapark.com, or by calling 800.792.9639.
