Desert Ridge Appoints Vipin K. Khullar Director of Food and Beverage

PHOENIX, AZ, July 11, 2006. In June 2006, the award winning JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa announced the appointment of Vipin Khullar as Director of Food and Beverage. With over 30 years of service in the hospitality sector, Khullar brings wide-ranging expertise and international experience to this position. As Director of Food and Beverage, Khullar will oversee all food and beverage venues in the 316-acre resort, including the property's eight unique restaurants.

Khullar began his professional career in 1975 with the Indian Hotels Company based in Southeast Asia. During this time, Khullar worked in a variety of positions and venues including as a member of the pre-opening team for the Taj Palace Intercontinental Hotel in Delhi and as Chef at the highly acclaimed New York Restaurant Raga. In 1988 Khullar took a position as Executive Chef of the JFK Marriott Hotel New York and began his tenure as a member of the Marriott team.

Since this time, Khullar has worked with eight different Marriott properties in locations such as Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. His most recent position was that of Director of Food and Beverage for the Philadelphia Downtown Marriott, PA.

Khullar earned his Diploma of International Cookery and Hotel Reception at the Institute of Hotel Management, New Delhi in India. He also regularly participates in continuing education courses at New York's Culinary Institute of America. A three-time prize winner in the Salon de Culinary Arts in New York, Khullar is a member of numerous professional organizations and clubs such as the American Culinary Federations, the Marriott's Chef's Council, and Les Amis d'Escoffier Society of New York, among others.
