World's Top Architects Gathered in Madrid For Grand Opening of One-Of-A-Kind Luxury Hotel

. October 14, 2008

MADRID, July 18, 2005. If you have a business trip to Spain coming up and are looking for a place to stay, you're in luck: The Puerta America luxury hotel in Madrid was unveiled at a ceremony on July 14th, 2005. The first project of its kind in the world, the hotel's interior was entirely designed by some of the world's most famous architects, and is sure to become one of the most sought after reservations in Europe.

American Richard Gluckman was one of 19 architects and designers who collaborated to bring the new 12-story silken hotel to life. Artists were given an area or an entire floor in which to express their ideas. Designer of the 9th floor, Gluckman is the principal architect at Gluckman Mayner in New York, and has designed some of the most stunning structures in the world, including the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, and the Museo Picasso in Spain.

The Puerta America hotel is located at the Avenida de America 41 in Madrid, located in proximity to shopping and business areas and accessible to public transportation. The Puerta America will be the flagship of the Spanish-owned Hoteles Silken Company, Silken's first five-star Grande Luxe hotel.
