John Q. Hammons Building an Embassy Suites
Adjoining 80,000 sq ft Conference Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee
MURFREESBORO, TN / SPRINGFIELD, MO, July 25, 2006. Mr. John Q. Hammons and the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce will hold a press conference today at noon CDT at Middle Tennessee State University. Mr. Hammons will unveil architectural site drawings of the planned 10-story, 283-suite Embassy Suites Hotel(R) (www.jqhhotels.com) and adjoining 80,000-square-foot conference center in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The first development of its kind for the city of Murfreesboro, the hotel will be owned by Mr. Hammons, and the hotel and conference center will be managed by Springfield, Mo.-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, LLC, the nation's leading independent builder, developer, owner and manager of upscale, full-service hotels, resorts and suites.
The all-suite, luxury hotel and conference center are scheduled to open in spring 2008, with construction slated to begin November 1, 2006. The new property will be strategically located near SR-840 in the northeast quadrant of I-24 and Medical Center Parkway and will be adjacent to a planned lifestyle center, "The Avenue Murfreesboro." A joint venture between Faison & Associates and Cousins Properties, the lifestyle center will feature one million square feet of restaurant, home furnishings and fashion shopping in an open-air setting and is scheduled to open in August 2007.
Mr. Hammons is slated to speak to more than 100 officials at the press conference, including state senators and representatives, city mayors within Rutherford County, the Destination Rutherford board of directors, Murfreesboro City Council, Murfreesboro Planning Commission and other gateway developers.

In addition to Mr. Hammons, the following representatives will address the audience during the press conference: Dr. Sydney McPhee, president of Middle Tennessee State University; Tommy Bragg, mayor of the city of Murfreesboro; and Bill Jones, chairman of Destination Rutherford and past chair of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce.

The Murfreesboro property marks the second full-service hotel and the first conference center Mr. Hammons has built in Tennessee.

Murfreesboro and Rutherford County's central location in Tennessee make it a prime area for development as the county is within 500 miles of 75 percent of the nation's population centers. The hotel and convention center will also be easily accessible from Middle Tennessee State University, the largest undergraduate university in the state with nearly 23,000 students, and will be within minutes from the Nashville International Airport, Murfreesboro Municipal Airport and Smyrna Airport.
