London Comes Out Tops for Travelers
DECEMBER 28, 2006. The British have chosen London as their favourite travel destination for both overall and domestic travel in 2006, according to statistics released by HolidayCity.com.
The overview on the whole is generally optimistic for online accommodation bookings by British consumers. The figures for the total bookings have surged approximately 12% compared to the same period in 2005.
Results from the same report also shows that 71% of the total bookings made by the British customers are for international destinations with Dublin leading the way, together with other favourite destinations such as Paris, Sydney, Auckland and Singapore. The total value booked by HolidayCity.com's British customers in 2006 is approximately USD5.4million with the figure expected to increase in 2007 due to an increase in product offerings for both domestic and international destinations.
