New Food & Beverage Staff at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort
Todd Richter named Sanctuary Executive Pastry Chef and Joseph Dion named Sanctuary Chef Tournant
KIAWAH ISLAND, SC, September 16, 2009 - The Kiawah Island Golf Resort has announced the appointment of Todd Richter, Sanctuary Executive Pastry Chef, and Joseph Dion, Sanctuary Chef Tournant.
Richter comes to Kiawah Island from Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina where he served as Executive Pastry Chef. He also taught baking and pastry arts at Sandhills Community College, also located in Pinehurst. Prior to that, he spent several years as Assistant Pastry Chef with the Cloister at Sea Island, fulfilling the requirements to become an American Culinary Federation Apprentice. He started his career at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dion began his career at The Sanctuary as the AM Sous Chef of Jasmine Porch, where he managed the daily operations that gained and maintain the prestigious Mobil 5 Star Award for the hotel. In January of this year, he helped develop and implement the Tomasso restaurant concept at the Turtle Point Clubhouse on Kiawah Island converting the clubhouse dining and bar operations into an authentic Italian, and family friendly venue. Joseph served as Chef de Cuisine of the clubhouse.
