Rosewood Appoints Erich Steinbock Managing Director of The Carlyle
NEW YORK, NY, September 29, 2009 - Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, the premier manager of ultra-luxury properties throughout the world, is pleased to announce the appointment of Erich Steinbock as Managing Director of The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel in New York. As Managing Director, Steinbock will oversee all areas of the legendary Upper East Side hotel including The Carlyle Restaurant, Bemelmans Bar, Caf'e Carlyle and Sense, A Rosewood Spa^a.
A 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Steinbock joins Rosewood Hotels & Resorts following eleven years with The Ritz-Carlton hotel company. After joining the hotel group as Food and Beverage Director at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, Steinbock became General Manager of several properties within the collection and spearheaded the opening of fourteen Ritz-Carltons both domestically and internationally. Steinbock also served as Vice President, food and beverage at the Ritz-Carleton Corporate office where he worked on developing concepts and opening restaurants with distinguished chefs, Eric Ripert, Laurent Tourandel, Dean Fearing and others. Most recently, he served as General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis.

Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, Steinbock held positions with prominent hotels in the United States, including The Beverley Hills Hotel in California and The Sun Valley Resort in Idaho. Steinbock has also earned a Master of Business Administration degree and has lectured at Harvard Business School.
