CHICAGO, IL, November 5, 2009 — When Abraham [Avi] Rosental stepped down in September 2009 as the Director General of the International Hotel & Restaurant Association after completing a successful four-year term, he immediately stepped up to serve on the Advisory Board for OpenWays. With offices in Chicago, Las Vegas, Seoul and Paris, OpenWays offers solutions to issue and deliver access rights and process guestroom keys via any cell phone operating on any network.

OpenWays, which will make its debut Nov. 8 at the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show in New York in Booth 3169, is compatible TODAY with the 4 billion cell phones currently in use around the world with a service that allows mobile users to proceed with the fastest and greenest way to check in and out, and also open their hotel room door.

“Mobile technology represents a new platform for travel commerce,” Rosental said. “As such, this new mobile application introduced by OpenWays will clearly revolutionize the hospitality industry by finally responding immediately to a huge guest demand. This achievement of bringing cellular technology to traveling consumers for services such as hotel check in and check out, key and lock management, loyalty management, travel companion applications, credential management, voucher management, convention management and more is monumental. And it's no surprise that it is being introduced by a team of hospitality security professionals that have proven throughout the years to be best in class. Therefore, it is with great pride that I join the OpenWays Advisory Board as we enter a new mobile era of guest service.”

Pascal Metivier, OpenWays Founder and CEO, said adding a prestigious international icon such as Avi Rosental to the OpenWays Advisory Board is a real honor.

“Avi is one of the most knowledgeable global hospitality executives I know, and one who is passionate about protecting the rights of hoteliers and promoting, developing and expanding global tourism,” Metivier said. “His insight and extensive connections throughout the hotel industry will serve us well as we work towards migrating mobile devices into hotel technology landscape to improve guest services, enhance guest and company communications for e-commerce and marketing, and provide heightened security.

“On behalf of the entire OpenWays team, we are excited to have Avi serve as a valued advisor, and we welcome him aboard,” he added.

The OpenWays Advisory Board is composed of high profile leaders from the Security, Mobile Network Operators, Information Technology and Hospitality industries. Additional appointments will be announced in the near future.
