December 15, 2009 - Sofitel Luxury Hotels is pleased to announce new manager appointments at three North America properties. Effective November 1, 2009, Vincent Vienne and Nicolas Pesty became general managers of Sofitel Philadelphia and Sofitel Chicago Water Tower respectively, while Florian Schutz was appointed hotel manager of Sofitel New York. With nearly 50 years of combined experience, Vienne, Pesty and Schutz bring a fresh approach and perspective to each property, while upholding the hotel group's award-winning French service and style.

“These managers have played a vital role in the success of Sofitel Luxury Hotels in North America,” said Erik Anderouard, regional vice president and general manager of Sofitel New York. “We are thrilled to see their continued success and growth within the company. We are confident that the acumen and drive that contributed to their managerial appointments will continue to serve them and their respective hotels extremely well.”

Prior to his appointment as general manager of Sofitel Philadelphia, Vincent Vienne served as hotel manager at Sofitel New York for three years. Well-entrenched in the hospitality industry, Vienne launched his career at Accor Hospitality Group shortly after college, working for the Novotel brand in Belgium. A stellar and long-standing Accor employee, Vienne quickly moved up the ranks, working at more than six properties worldwide. Once the front desk manager at Sofitel Philadelphia, Vienne now returns to the property as general manager.

Nicholas Pesty, newly appointed general manager for Sofitel Chicago Water Tower, has deep roots in the Sofitel family. Pesty joined Accor in 1991 as the food and beverage manager at the former Sofitel Houston. His career went on to take him to Sofitel San Francisco, Novotel New York and Novotel Meadowlands. In 2000, Pesty's journey led him to Sofitel Philadelphia where he served as director of operations and was later promoted to general manager.

Appointed hotel manager of Sofitel New York, Florian Schutz most recently held the position of hotel manager for Soho House in New York City. Prior to this, Schutz spent seven years at Sofitel New York in the food and beverage department, where he held numerous positions including food and beverage director. Schutz began his tenure with Sofitel when he relocated to the United States from France in 2002.
