Big Mountain Resort Meeting Facilities Improved
WHITEFISH, Montana, August 5, 2005. Big Mountain Resort has significantly improved meeting and group function facilities at the Summit House atop Big Mountain, making it an ideal venue to mix work with pleasure during the long summer days. In addition to mountain meetings, The Summit House is also the ultimate location for a mountain wedding or a family reunion event.
"The recently remodeled Glacier View Room is an exciting new venue for local and destination meetings," said Jan Watkins, sales manager for Big Mountain. "Our Mountain Meetings facility offers world-class views, wireless internet access, as well as fun way to get there - a gondola or chairlift ride to the summit. The delicious new menus now available in the restaurant are another reason we think this unique facility will attract both local and destination interest."
The newly improved Glacier View Room in the lower level of the Summit House encompasses 1800 square feet of function space with large windows looking out to the peaks of Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley. Meeting space is available for 70 people in classroom-style seating or for 160 people in theatre-style set-up.
In addition to wireless internet access, multi-media screens are available, as well as a range of audio-visual equipment. White tablecloths, ice water, a snack and basic coffee and beverage service is included as part of the meeting set-up, and there is also full catering service available.
While mixing work with pleasure is always a bonus, a family reunion or a wedding at the Summit House takes the fun-factor sky-high. Weddings can be booked to include space at the entire Summit House for the ceremony and reception for up to 200 people, as well as a special VIP gondola car that includes plush seats, chilled champagne, and a CD player. Smaller family reunions also can take advantage of the spectacular setting at the summit, in addition to a variety of lodging options in the village.
"The dinner on the summit was perfect," said Beth Jaffe from Missoula, who hosted a 50-person family-gathering honoring the 10th anniversary of Beth and Bob Jaffe. The group stayed in several Woodrun Townhouses in the village."This has given everyone the feeling of being royalty for a few days," she continued.
Other attractions at the 7000-foot summit include a network of hiking and biking trails, the Summit Nature Center staffed by the U.S. Forest Service, and a full-service restaurant and bar with seating inside or on the large deck.
