Ritz-Carlton, Westchester Introduces a Fun Family Weekend at the Movies
Jacob Burns Film Center package offers something for all ages.
White Plains, NY - (March 23 2010) - Remember those rainy Saturday afternoons when you sat in the back of the theater eating popcorn and laughing with your friends?
The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester is offering its guests the chance to experience a fun-filled weekend with a special family package that will appeal to film enthusiasts of all ages. Stay in deluxe accommodations for just $249 per night, or stay two nights and receive a $100 credit. The hotel also offers an executive suite for $369 per night, and a one-bedroom for $389 per night.
“While our weekday clientele is comprised mainly of business travelers, our weekends are becoming very busy with family travelers,” said Marcie McGeehan, Sales & Marketing Manager for The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester. “With so many children here on the weekends, we wanted to offer activities that guests of all ages could share and enjoy.”
For the youngsters, The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester offers Saturday and Sunday outings to the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville where they can enjoy “Movies for Kids,” a light-hearted movie series that presents classic family films on Saturdays and Sundays at noon. In March and April the theme is cats, featuring films such as The Three Lives of Thomasina, Puss in Boots and Disney's That Darn Cat.
Teens can enjoy a night out with Friday Night Films at the Lab. Geared to teen-agers 14-18, this special program offers teens the chance to watch and then discuss popular films. Upcoming dates are April 9 and May 7. And while their teens are entertained, parents can also enjoy a night at the movies with many award-winning art and first-run films to choose from.
And for those who prefer to spend time behind the camera instead of in front of a screen, special one-day workshops featuring instruction in animation, make-up, lighting and film editing are held on weekends throughout the year. Separate arrangements can be made to sign up for these programs upon request.
