MICHAEL HENNINGSEN RECOGNIZED WITH A 2010 AH&LA STATE LEADERSHIP AWARD

. April 02, 2010

Michael Henningsen, Director of Hotel Operations for the Plamondon Companies, was presented a State Leadership Award by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) during the AH&LA Legislative Action Summit, March 15-16, in Washington, D.C. The award was given to Henningsen for his work on behalf of the Maryland Hotel and Lodging Association, Inc.

Mr. Henningsen serves on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Hotel and Lodging Association as well as the Membership Committee and the Golf Committee.

“Michael has been committed to the Association, brought in new members as well as worked diligently to ensure that the golf outing is very successful. The golf outing provides funds for scholarships for people interested in the hospitality industry as a career path,” said Mary Jo McCulloch, President and CEO of MH&LA. “This award is our opportunity to say thank you to our most treasured asset, our volunteers. It's because of their drive and leadership that our associations make the industry better for both our employees and our guests-nationally and locally.”

Launched in 1998, this annual award, formerly known as the Most Valuable Volunteer Award is presented to one person in each state who has contributed to their individual state hospitality programs and initiatives. Winners are determined by the partner state associations and receive a commemorative award.
